Reto Mäder - BIOGRAPHY
Reto Mäder founded the group Siddharta in 1996. Concerning themselves with experimental "guitar music" generated by a drum computer and textured by sonic manipulations, Siddharta performed a handful of live concerts, but were ultimately short-lived. In the same year Dodge was formed. They followed the path first instigated by Siddharta, adding improvisational elements to the mélange.
rm74 was created in 1997 in order to intensify and make public Mäder's studies in digital electronics, electro-acoustic aleatorics, and experiments with micro-sound particles and related phenomena.
In 1999 Reto launched the Hinterzimmer label, initially as an outlet for his own compositions. Hinterzimmer is now a full-fledged imprint, featuring new works by musicians as diverse as Strotter Inst. and Hund.
From 1999 Mäder has collaborated with Dave Phillips on a monthly radio program, broadcasting all manner of contemporary sounds on an alternative Swiss FM outlet.
